Material Handler
SCHEDULE:
40 hours per week
Monday – Friday
Day shift
Some Saturdays
Occasional overtime
WAGES:
$23 - $30 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
In addition to the base wage listed, employees are also eligible to earn an additional monthly performance incentive subject to changes in plan design and in accordance with applicable law.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must be able to understand and communicate safety and other work-related instructions
Must be able to perform work in an outside operations environment with considerable physical exertion
Must be able to perform duties in all weather conditions
This is a safety sensitive position, and as such, applicants are subject to pre-employment drug testing to include screening for marijuana
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Dimension lumber, panels, and other building material product knowledge
Forklift operating experience
Knowledge of receiving and inventory control practices and procedures
Knowledge of equipment capabilities, load capacities, and height and length restrictions
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely and accurately load lumber and building materials onto customer vehicles
Correctly read pick tickets and invoices in order to fill customer orders accurately
Safely unload lumber and building materials from incoming delivery trucks
Receive delivered inventory by inspecting both products and paperwork for accuracy
Put inventory away promptly and accurately
Complete forklift safety inspections
Assists in inventory and cycle counts
Assists with material returns
Responsible for daily activities of a building materials facility
Typically performs, but is not limited to, one or more operations-related functions (receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads)
Operates forklift and may operate machinery, as required
Ensures yard and warehouse are maintained to meet housekeeping and safety guidelines
Other duties as assigned
